Why is Jesus called Lord? It's one of the most common titles in scripture, repeated thousands of times across the Old and New Testaments. But the word behind it has a long history of its own — older than English, older than Latin, with roots running through Greek, Hebrew, and beyond.

In Inner Whirled 12, Chance and co-host Dylan Saccoccio walk through the etymology of "Lord" and follow the word back through layers of translation history, ancient priesthood traditions, and the symbolism the ancients encoded in sacred names.

In this session: the Greek root Kyrios and its ancient connections, the many Hebrew names for God hidden under one English word, the role of Latin and Arabic in shaping the Bible we read today, and the deeper symbolism behind the divine titles.
