Why Marty Trusts Mathematics

Marty traces his road to pi back to a simple crisis of trust: if men cannot be trusted, what can be? His answer was mathematics, which he calls universal, incorruptible and present in every science, adding that people can lie about math but math itself never does. From there he asks why the universe hands us constants like pi, tau and e at all. Pi, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, returns the same endless irrational string for any circle of any size, and Marty describes holding it in mind for years until connections began lighting up, even noting that the word philosophy opens with phi.

2

Seven at the Center of the Alphabet

Marty lays out why he considers the septenary cipher superior to every other way of numbering English letters. Counting one to seven and back down to one sums to 49, which he points out is how a child could square seven, so squaring is built into the pattern itself. Seven, sacred across creation stories and scriptures, falls on G and T, and the word seven totals 22, giving 22 over 7, the classic approximation of pi. T, he adds, echoes tau, which is two pis. Chance layers in philology, reading G to T as got, a Germanic form of God, and as a gate sitting at the middle.

3

Received or Invented? Words and the Logos

Chance spots the first letters of Christ hiding in pi's ratio of circumference to radius, a C to an R, echoing the chi rho, and Marty adds that chi reads 365 in English gematria and roots the word chiropractor, which he links to the 33 bones of the spine. Chance asks how much of this was encoded on purpose and how much is synchromystic, suggesting the logos speaks through our imagination. Marty's answer is that nobody designed it; people received it, the way he writes music and sermons as a stenographer for the Lord. He argues truth was hidden in everyday speech so no book burning could erase it.

4

Gnosticism Without the Black Pill

Chance draws a hard line between the Gnosticism Marty teaches and the popular online version, where an evil demiurge traps everyone in a meaningless simulation, a view Chance calls the ultimate excuse for victimhood. Marty says his forthcoming tenets of the order spend pages rejecting it, and describes truth seeking as a descent with a floor: there is a bottom to the darkness but no top to the light, and those who climb back out return stronger and bolder. He also faults a priest class he likens to a moat between ordinary people and God. The realm itself, Marty insists, is dripping wet with meaning.

5

Zero, One, and the Middle Path

Chance reads the symbol of pi, a circle with a line to its center, as a one and a zero pulled apart: the masculine and feminine generative powers, with the spark between them as the savior. Marty takes zero and one as the metaphysical and the physical, hearing the same math in Genesis, where a formless void precedes light and duality. His riddle is to find the middle: five sits at the center of the number line, the golden mean names a balance between extremes, and the middle path is, he says, the way of God. He notes the Milky Way cuts the circle of stars like a diameter.

“To truly bring equity to the scales of our perception, it seems clear enough to me that the center of ourselves is the best place to be.”
“I make the metaphor that eventually it's like you actually do hit a bottom and realize there is a bottom to the darkness, but there is no top to the light.”
“Math is not going to lie to you. And I always say, yes, people can lie about math, but math won't lie.”
“Whenever you create something, whenever you use the imagination, stuff comes out that other people notice in it that you never put there on purpose.”
“I know what it's like to get into that state where you don't really even feel like you're doing anything. I call it being a stenographer for the Lord, a dictator for the divine.”
“You could burn all the temples, all the books, everything, but if you actually encoded the stuff in the very words that people use to communicate with one another, it can never get lost.”
“No matter what you look at, the truth will be there. You can't ever be separate from it. You can't leave nature. Truth is always in your face, waving at you.”
“You're not going to suck the divine meaning out of this realm in the name of Gnosticism. Not on my watch.”

Marty Leeds is a gematria researcher, author and preacher who founded The Gnostic Church and Academy of Lord Jesus Christ in 2022, where he serves as head teacher and spiritual leader. A working minister since 2011, he is the author of more than ten books, among them the Pi & The English Alphabet series, Scripture in the Stars, The Keys to the Tarot and Gnosticism Defined: The Tenets of The Order, built around a mathematical cipher he says is hidden beneath the English alphabet. His teaching centers on Prisca Theologia, the idea of a single wisdom underlying the world's religions, drawing together gematria, Kabbalah, astrology and comparative mythology. He streams weekly sermons free through the Gnostic Academy's YouTube and Rumble channels.
