Core themes

5 themes
1

Germination, Patience and Letting Nature Work

Owen Hunt argued that creative and spiritual progress worked like a seed in the ground, where too much water or too much sun stopped it from growing, and he admitted his own habit of over-acting and rushing results. Chance Garton agreed that thought needed room for synchronicity and divine timing, and that forcing an outcome only reinforced a sense of lack. Owen described how hosting a second comedy show in Jefferson, Georgia came to him once he stopped pushing and simply offered to help, and he called the universe the best at throwing surprise parties.

2

The Myth of Talent and Care

Chance argued that the word talent erased a lifetime of daily practice, claiming that aptitude grew out of care, which he called heart. He said anyone could become good at what they admired in their own way once they dropped comparison and gave their time and attention to a lasting vessel instead of a screen. Owen Hunt added that curiosity led to passion, purpose and abundance, and described comedy as a grind of open mics, long drives and notebooks of discarded writing.

3

Attention, Narratives and Co-Creation

A call-in from Gordan Hamil asked whether spirituality or conspiracy had come first for Owen Hunt, and Owen said it was conspiracy, through dystopian books and videos around 2012. He argued that fighting a narrative feeds it, because energy follows attention, and that people create the realities they hate. Chance said attention on a problem only showed where the solution was. Chance also read a chat comment that identity was the ultimate vulnerability, and the conversation agreed that without attachment to false personas people would not be controllable through them.

4

Belief Systems, Reality Tunnels and Self Love

Owen Hunt said ancient texts all pointed back to the self, and he credited Robert Anton Wilson with calling every belief a belief system. He suggested phrasing such as appears to me, rather than flat declarations, to keep arguments from hardening, and said the map is not the territory. Chance described those beliefs as filters laid over a single wholeness. He argued that all love is self-love, that love is the recognition of potential, and that fear is a constriction toward one necessary outcome.

5

Enneagram, Insurance and Georgia's Film Boom

Owen Hunt, a self-described type two, said the Enneagram showed motivation rather than personality traits and changed how he understood other people. One of the hosts said he could not settle on a single number, and Owen guessed he might be a nine. Another speaker then argued that insurance held outsized power and read symbolism into company logos. Owen explained how tax incentives pulled film production to Atlanta, and Gabe questioned deeper reasons, linking Jekyll Island and Bohemian Grove to the two pillars of Solomon's temple.

Quotes

“I think I do have a good ability to make things simple. And that's the heart of it. It's like, I want to take this crazy esoteric concept and bring it down to earth and make it really practical and usable and simple.”
“I'll also say that I love what you're talking about, bringing the esoteric into a down to earth, grounded, easy to understand way of explaining it. Because if it's true, it should be self-evident because nature equals truth and nature is self-evident everywhere.”
“If we look at a seed, it goes in the ground and nothing happens. If you pour 10 gallons of water on it, you're just gonna drown it. If you just put it right in the sun and that's all it's getting, then it's not gonna grow right. So I think it's really easy for us all to get ahead of ourselves and get really excited.”
“There is such a thing as natural inclination and aptitude, but all of that is a function of care, which is heart. So if you really cared about something, then you're gonna have an aptitude for it in the sense of the way people say talent, but there isn't this mystical thing called talent that they've got and you don't have, it's care.”
“Synchronicity is perpetual, but the way that synchronicity then appears to us is as a vibrational match to our lack. So the key is to stay in the excitement bubble, however you can.”
“It's really about that curiosity, it's the thing that you are curious about. That's the thing that you have the talent for. And if you follow that curiosity, that curiosity leads to passion, that passion leads to purpose, and then that purpose leads to abundance.”
“Energy should always be put towards solution more than anything else. Paying attention to the problem is only there to reveal to you where the solution is, which existed before the problem in the first place.”
“Fear is the constriction down to a single desired or seemingly necessary outcome. It won't be okay unless it's this way. Love is just like, do whatever, man. It's all gonna be fine.”
“It's like Jerry Seinfeld says, when you go up there, you see this guy who was just telling a funny story. You're like, I can do that. But when you go up there, it is a cold dead brick wall of nothing. They're not giving you anything. And you've gotta bring all the energy, right?”
“So understanding that, it completely changed the way that I interacted with people and understood where they're at. Like you can actually put yourself in someone else's shoes, not just in their shoes through your shoes. If you understand a little bit more about them and what their take on reality is.”
“Tax changes is something, sure. That's a good on the surface story, but you'd think that with the money and power influence wielded by the powers that end up influencing Hollywood, then they could have set up those tax situations probably anywhere that was preferable to them.”
“My show is called Blue Collar Mystics because I believe we are all capable. We all have the tools to get in there under the hood and start exploring our consciousness and fixing things that we can be broken.”
“I'll come every time you have me. I'm happy to come along, man. This is a great adventure.”

Kyle and Serena Denton are community herbalists creating wild-crafted and organic plant medicines out of Milwaukee since 2015. I have used their teas and tinctures on an almost daily basis for years now. Kyle is a great friend of InnerVerse and has appeared on the channel more times than I can count. These products work, not in the allopathic "pharma-medicine" way, but in a terrain-support, consciousness bolstering plant-teacher sort of way.
