Core themes
Healing Tools as Permission Slips
Tarah described acupuncture as a wonderful permission slip and argued that people did not need any method at all, because they could heal themselves. Chance said much of his work with clients was helping them believe something effective was happening, and that he could do energetic balancing with hands and voice alone, though he called tuning forks a great external instrument. Gordy agreed and said being present in your body was the biggest thing he could preach, because the rest followed from it. One speaker added that each tool simply pointed a person back to themselves.
Voice, Body, and Spirit as One
After Gordy read a passage from a mystic book about the diaphragm as a firmament, Chance argued that any part of the energy system could be expressed through the voice and warned of a bottleneck between head and body. Liz said people struggled to emote fully through words, moans, screams or humming. Later one speaker argued that spirit and body were fused, comparing spirit to a seed that becomes a whole tree. One guest said years of blissed out spiritual community taught her that sidelining the body backfired.
Telegram, Weaving Spiders, and New Stories
Tarah said The Source Connection began when she and Liz decided to tell new stories about what was possible instead of dwelling on a dying world. The guests described Telegram groups, the Weaving Spiders channel and the Wednesday Flow State art sessions as intentional, low pressure communities. One speaker said couples had formed through those spaces. One speaker told how a Telegram group suggested witch hazel and bentonite clay for chiggers after a web search only offered poison. Liz joked that her first question to a date would be about viruses.
Busy Is a Belief, Time Is Subjective
Chance said he no longer carried the identity of being busy, and argued that busy was a state of mind that programmed the universe to offer fewer opportunities. He later said the real time was subjective and spiritual, and that the Greeks separated chronos, measured time, from kairos, lived time. He said the clock could be a useful tool or a false god. Liz said his earlier conversation about time had moved her deeply, and Gordy added that naming a magical force placed limits on it.
Death, Belief, and Past Lives
Liz explained her path toward death doula work and said she wanted people to talk openly about mortality and tell loved ones what they meant to them while alive. Chance argued that die was a prefix meaning two, as in divide. Another speaker said belief shaped the afterlife and questioned inherited ideas about aging. One speaker summarized Dolores Cannon's quantum healing hypnosis, and Chance said he occasionally found stuck energy in the biofield that seemed to predate a client's life, which he read as a pattern they arrived with.
Quotes
“I get settled and there's this fireside chat happening with this guy named Chance that I never heard of. And I'm just like, who is this brother? Who is this being? It was just like an immediate recognition, the way you were speaking, the conversations that were being had.”
“I think acupuncture is wonderful, just like all methods. It's a wonderful permission slip, like Liz and I talk about on our show all the time. But I do sincerely believe with all of my being that we don't need any of it, and we can heal ourselves.”
“I recognized, in my mid twenties or early twenties, that the way I was talking to myself, the way that I was relating with myself, was not coherent anymore with how I wanted to experience life. And I think that was my biggest shift. It was when I looked at myself in the mirror and I said, I want to be my best friend.”
“Most people are talking about the dying world. Most people are fixated with what's happening and just the disillusion of something. And what was exciting for the both of us was to tell new stories, to talk about what's possible. What are we going to do? And we wanted to amplify that.”
“What a better way to learn how to get into your meditation than with some owls looking and staring into your soul. So that was a little intimidating. But as you relax, they relax. And this works with all of nature. It's not just owls or whatever.”
“I say this all the time, but any part of your energy system can be expressed through the voice. It's really important that you have the voice open and clear, because you don't want a bottleneck there. Literally you'll be either a floating head disconnected from your body or a brainless zombie disconnected from your mind.”
“If I were single, it would just have to happen so naturally. Because my first question would be, what do you think about viruses? And not that somebody needs to be on the exact same page, because to me it is a continuous exploration, but how open is somebody to anything that's out of maybe what they've considered to be true.”
“Being busy is not a prerequisite to be productive. Busy is a state of mind and it programs the universe to not offer things, to not bring opportunities. And in particular, to just be less fun.”
“The real time is subjective. The real time is your spiritual development, your development as a being, your growth as the entity that you are. And then the secondary thing is the measured time. We only have one word, which is time, but the Greeks had two words for this. They had chronos, which is the measured time. And they had kairos, which is subjective time.”
“Recognize it. It doesn't need a name. And once you name something, it puts limits on it. You don't really want to do that with a magical energy or whatever it is.”
“I feel blessed to be given the name that I have because it represents an absence of concept, like a potential instead. And also it's one letter different from change. So I'm not saying that I'm any more comfortable with change when it's hard than any other human being, but I do have this innate knowing that change is definitely coming.”
“I like to create conversations around death. I want people to talk about it. I want people to face their own mortality. I want people to tell other people how much they loved them before they die. Because it's beautiful when we go to funerals and how many beautiful words are said. And then you think, did the person ever hear this while they were alive?”
“So sing what you like, who cares what's around? Nobody cares what you're doing in your own kitchen. If you look stupid, it's okay. Your kids will get over it.”
