Core themes
Getting Out of Your Own Way
Izzy says the biggest lesson behind both her painting and her lifestyle is getting her mind out of the way. She began painting only six years ago, and she describes ideas arriving through ecstatic dance, time in nature and meditation, then starting a canvas with only half the vision in mind so that more can tunnel through once she is in front of it. Her practical advice is to get some color down and banish the blank canvas. Chance compares the process to the intuitive mind handing the conscious mind one packet of the vision at a time.
Channeling the Beyond Lemuria Deck
For seven or eight years Izzy has had visions of Lemuria, which she describes as a realm of light beings deeply connected to nature, partly incarnated, with healing and telepathic gifts, beings she says are held to be the ancestors of our ancestors. Those visions became Beyond Lemuria, her second oracle deck: 56 paintings first, then card meanings she says she downloaded in a high vibration with pencil and paper. She says she had to live every theme in her own life while writing it, and that a piece she channeled on Mount Shasta turned out to hold the codes for the whole deck.
Fairies and Beings Between Worlds
Although her work reads as fairy art, Izzy calls her subjects multidimensional beings living in the betwixt, partly physical and partly etheric, with wings that symbolize freedom and attire that tells each painting's story. She sees her role as a bridge, grounding an awareness of other realms so people remember that physical reality is only a tiny tip of the whole, and she holds that such beings come into view as we raise our vibration. Chance wonders aloud whether fairies, angels and the beings some now call aliens are all connected, and Izzy suggests psychedelics can serve as training wheels for perceiving them.
Painting the Downloads
Izzy recounts meditating at a sacred site on the Sunshine Coast, where beings emerging from the earth showed her codes and told her she could tune into the Great Central Sun, which she came to feel as a sun within herself between heart and solar plexus. Words capture maybe one percent of such experiences, she says, so she paints them, sometimes personifying the codes as characters with faces. Many viewers tell her she painted their own vision. Chance adds that imagery slips past the left brain filter, and cautions that identifying with spiritual superpowers tends to block them.
Energy, Synesthesia and Gentleness
Izzy has practiced energy work for about 13 years and now teaches Reiki, which she calls simply focused life force energy and a key tool for giving yourself a clearing wherever you are, noting that we are never taught about energy as kids even though it is the root of everything. She closes on her synesthesia, once overwhelming, now the language behind her healing and painting. In his solo reflection Chance draws card 57 of his I Ching oracle, the Gentle, and, leaning on Richard Rudd's Gene Keys, frames its shadow of unease as mental noise drowning out the still, quiet voice of intuition.
Quotes

“Keep doing what you love and then you'll be able to keep doing what you love.”
“It's one of my favorite words, pronoia, which is the opposite of paranoia. It's the sneaking suspicion that things in the background are conspiring in your favor instead of conspiring against you.”
“When we can raise our vibration then we also access so much more of the world around us.”
“We all are unique and that's a better way to be special than to try to have like magical powers that others need to depend on you for.”
