Kerri Hummingbird | Healing With Ancestors, The Second Wave of Lightworkers & White Eagle
Kerri Hummingbird is the author of several books, and host of her own podcast: Soul Nectar. Join us for a discussion about Kerri's 2019 book, The Second Wave: Transcending The Human Drama, a book about getting past the amnesiac state of life on Earth, and remembering the gifts your soul always intended to bring to this life.
We also talk about her partner of sorts on this project, White Eagle; he's a Native ancestor who connects with Kerri in the astral to give guidance. Other topics include Kerri's "Skills Not Pills" Movement, communicating with our own ancestors, spiritual emergencies, and what it feels like to open our third eye apertures to a higher vibration of reality.

Core themes
The Second Wave of Volunteers
Kerri says the idea arrived as the prompt for her 2019 book, along with a nudge toward Dolores Cannon's talk on three waves of volunteers who have been arriving since the 1960s. In her telling, the second wave exists to embody higher frequencies, and that first required fully embracing humanity, which meant forgetting who they are. She dates the dawning awareness to around 2010 and 2011, and says anyone sensing there is more to the story than a name and a family belongs to the movement.
Fate, Destiny and Being Cherished
Chance asks about the Book of Fate and the Book of Destiny, and Kerri describes the first as the storyline handed to us at birth, one she says each soul chose in a time of great change. The second, she says, can be opened only by the soul, and doing so does not mean killing the personality. Instead the personality discovers how cherished it is, even in the parts it finds gritty, while she makes room for real pain along the way.
Motherhood and the Mother Wound
Chance reads Dolores Cannon's observation that many first and second wavers avoid having children, then asks whether cultural messaging aimed at young women might be an effort to reduce the number of third wave souls arriving. Kerri answers that those who chose children signed up to heal the mother wound, a specialized task she explores in her newer book, and she honors those who chose another role, such as holding space. She envisions motherhood grounded in natural authority rather than control.
How White Eagle Entered Her Story
Kerri describes White Eagle as an ascended master whose method is rainbow light and whose path is the red road of indigenous teaching, aimed at lifting consciousness past the reptilian and limbic brains toward the frontal cortex and an open heart. She traces the meeting to a drum journey in which, eyes closed, she says she saw a chief in a white feathered headdress, later matched to a photograph she had never seen. Chance adds his own view that perception is routed through one aperture, the optic thalamus.
Emergency, Witnessing and Thinking for Yourself
Chance wonders how to take the scariness out of the word emergency and offers the pun that it is literally emergent, which Kerri embraces, describing heavy fear-based energy that rises to be felt and witnessed before it can leave and contrasting it with spiritual bypass, floating out of the body instead of embodying. She calls the body the vehicle of spirituality, and Chance agrees that purifying the temple prevents distortion. Her Skills Not Pills message urges people to think, research and feel for themselves, since she says no one size fits all answer remains, and Chance adds that this age asks us to know rather than believe.
Quotes
“Each one of us as we do our personal work, we're contributing to the ascension of human consciousness. Every single one of us, we're all connected intrinsically. We can't be anything other than that.”
“What resonates with you is what you're meant to carry out of this conversation. What you don't fully agree with is what you're meant to discern about any conversation.”
“We all chose to be here at this time. And it's a time of great change, and great change brings great discomfort.”
“We gotta know things, not believe things. That's what the age is about.”
“You were specifically designed for this mission. And so you are cherished, actually loved, cherished, just delighted in.”
“Being's a verb, not a noun. We mix that up because we call ourselves human beings, but it is a process.”
“The body is not an impediment to spirituality. It is actually the vehicle of spirituality.”
“You gotta think for yourself. You've got to research for yourself. You gotta feel yourself. You gotta learn how to go inside and find the answer that's right for you.”
