Core themes
Purpose as the core of masculine energy
Chance argued that the heart of masculine energy was knowing a purpose and pursuing it relentlessly, while feminine energy supported that pursuit, and he said the same dance had to happen inside each person before it showed up between two people. He claimed that factory work and later entertainment pulled men away from purpose. Chance also described attraction as a kind of vibe check on that purpose, and he suggested that confusing money or status with purpose led to trouble on both sides. Michelle and Rachel added their own views on balance.
The masculine role and online culture
Chance described a corner of online commentary that spent its energy pointing out the supposed mental illness of the opposing political side, and he called that a corruption of the masculine role. In his view, the true masculine would build something better instead of fighting pointless verbal battles. He also equated left and right politics with masculine and feminine, and he stressed that every person carried both. Rachel replied that she felt a mismatch with some stereotypes of femininity, and Michelle said she related, adding that society portrayed the roles differently than she had experienced them.
Patriarchy, Webster's 1828, and word warfare
One participant asked what patriarchy actually meant and whether anyone had really seen it. One of the hosts then read the 1828 Webster's definitions of patriarch and patriarchy as rule by a father over a family, and reported that the dictionary had no entry for matriarchy. That host wondered aloud whether the divide was a later tactic of word warfare. Another speaker wondered whether the term was shaped by church imagery, noting how the Hierophant tarot card is usually drawn and that some newer decks softened that imagery.
Nature as a teacher of polarity
Kyle described the elder tree as a feminine archetype of the fairy world and the hawthorn as its masculine counterpart, and he explained how scent works as a subtle psychoactive switch. He said incense carried a fiery masculine principle while hydrosols carried a watery feminine one. Michelle told of thanking a branch on a hike and seeing a gentleman offering a hand as a sign of the divine masculine and feminine. Chance told a story about a beaver felled tree that became a resting place for turtles, reading the beaver as masculine and the turtles as feminine.
Beauty, balance, and the luminaries
Chance argued that objective beauty, like a flower in bloom, worked as a guide, and that refusing to call ugly things beautiful would help people detox their lives. He pointed to a swordsman who was also a poet as a picture of both poles being strong at once. Rachel described the sun and moon as a way for light and dark to communicate, and she said women's cycles tracking the moon could be a gentle language between the sexes. Michelle encouraged men not to give up and to work on themselves, since that was how they attracted partners.
Quotes
“The masculine wouldn't go and fight verbal fights and bully the side that they say are the bullies. The real true masculine would not engage in fights that were pointless. They would just build something better, build something outside of that, show the truth through action rather than spitting acid at all the people that they think are the problem.”
“Because when you have both in their roles, this is why my project is called Healing Home. You create a place of healing. Your home becomes your altar of a place for all sorts of healing to happen.”
“In my opinion, this is a dynamic that exists because it's part of the female role of vibe checking the masculine. And if the masculine is really off purpose and not pursuing purpose as they should be, then they're going to be less and less attractive to the feminine.”
“When you smell something aromatic, it puts you into a different state of mind. It takes your attention elsewhere. You can have an experience where you smell rosemary and now all of a sudden you're, where is that? Where is that coming from? You're out there. So it's just a real subtle psychoactive switch in your mind.”
“You had the camaraderie of a team of men. You lived in an area, the team of men would work together to do certain things, build different projects. If there was a defense of the area needed, they did that together. We replaced that with sports ball like Chance keeps talking about where now sports ball is your team, your guys. And if they win, you win.”
“But I think that the incense has more of like, you know, it's going straight up, it's going to heaven. It's got the fiery masculine principle, the hydrosol has got the watery feminine principle. And it's really fun to work with both of those and then to feel those together in the field.”
“It's like what you're describing might look androgynous, but it's really like both of the poles of the dynamic disequilibrium are strong and distinct in the being. He is a swordsman and a poet, a gentleman and a scholar, all of these things.”
“If we really get real with ourself about what is and isn't beautiful and we don't lie to ourself about it, and we structure our life in a way to bring about as much beauty into ourself on all sensory levels as possible, and either fix and bring back to balance or create boundaries against that which is not beautiful, we will be detoxing ourself on a lot of levels.”
“And then I thought about just the gesture of a gentleman who offers his hand to a woman to allow her to pass over a rocky area or a puddle or whatever it be, and it was just this beautiful spark that I had of, oh my gosh, this to me is an example that nature is giving me of this divine masculine feminine connection that's there and it's everywhere.”
“I think you're right. Both of you, Kyle and Michelle, when you start to interact with spirit, you see these dynamics that we're talking about play out in such a natural way. You just see it. It's so clear and it's so obvious and it's so beautiful to watch it interact, and you can learn from it so easily.”
“So the turtles in the metaphor are the feminine. They're even circular, they have a shell, they carry their home with them, a lot of reasons why you can correlate that. And by the masculine fulfilling its purpose, not even necessarily knowing why it's fulfilling its purpose, it's just doing what it's called to do, then the feminine builds a home out of that.”
“That's, let's work together. Let's get your chaos in a way that I can understand it. I know, now that you're going to go through this and here's your peak time, here's your low time. I understand your flow now. I get it. It's a way that we can communicate and understand each other and it's right there. It's not even complicated.”
“When I learned about this, I'm like, wow, that's kind of brutal. And I guess a message to a man that might be trapped in that cycle of thinking is that there's women out there that want to create this beauty with you.”
