Forty Years From Guy's Hospital to the Sweat Lodge

Mortiboys traces a path from mainstream training at Guy's Hospital in London in the early 1980s, where he says he was already an outlier for hanging around the Stonehenge free festivals and playing Hawkwind, through travels in Australia and the Far East that included living with Aboriginal communities and the Mentawai tribe on Siberut off Sumatra. Back in the UK he moved through hypnotherapy, regression, neuro linguistics and a Tony Robbins course, kept a gong in his clinic for 32 years, sold his practice five years ago, and got word on the day of taping that a 12 acre Isle of Wight property was his.

2

Fear, White Coats and Courting a Dentist

Roughly 95 percent of dentistry, Mortiboys says, happens while the patient is wide awake and asked to surrender to a stranger, which is why he cites a UK figure of over 50 percent of people simply not going, with cost as the smoke screen. His advice on the relationship, not the treatment, is blunt: never jump into bed with a dentist, get an examination and a follow up first, and trust your intuition about their hands and intentions. He also blames the room itself, naming white coatitis, arguing sterile white reads as anti life, and describing his own turquoise walls, aromatherapy and patient painted ceiling art.

3

Teeth as Boundaries, Virility and the Inner Smile

Prompted by a neighbour's Alsatian barking through the recording, Mortiboys builds his symbolic reading of teeth: an animal shows canines to mark a boundary, so teeth stand for self empowerment and virility, and hiding them signals shame. He points to travellers he has met with brown or missing teeth whose inner smile, as he puts it, is so strong the outer one follows, and to betel nut chewers in India with bright red teeth. He is wary of cosmetic work, calling enamel removal for veneers enamel amputation, and notes agents telling singers aged 16 to 20 to get their teeth fixed fast.

4

Saliva as Oral Gold and the Vagus Nerve

The centre of Mortiboys' framework is saliva, which he calls oral gold and describes as a protective elixir that dries up in fight or flight and turns acidic under anxiety, poor breathing and reflux. He describes the waking pH check with litmus paper as the clue clinicians look at, and frames tooth decay as demineralisation, an osteoporosis of the teeth, since enamel is a crystal that dissolves in acid. Decay and gum disease are bifactorial in his view, an outside job and an inside job, and he links the shamanic staples of chanting, humming and drumming to published vagus nerve research.

5

Parasites, Hulda Clark and a Patient's Last Wish

Mortiboys contends that some gum cases which never respond to hygienist care are parasitic rather than bacterial, citing amoebic organisms feeding in gum tissue, and he references the late Hulda Clark, her Mexico clinic and books like Cure for All Diseases, including her hard line that dead or damaged teeth should simply go. His most personal story is a terminally ill man who asked to have old root canal and mercury work removed so he could die clean, came in with his two daughters, and was remembered in a phone call after he passed. He closes on vets pulling dogs' teeth for one to two thousand pounds.

“Today we've got an extremely unique guest who knows that like all other forms of wellness, a sound mouth is an inside job.”
“One of my big messages is never jump into bed with a stranger or a dentist, never jump into bed with a dentist.”
“We're layering on more stuff like cooties and 9-11 and it's like the rings of a tree where you can see the years where there was a forest fire.”
“That's kind of what I feel is a very primal, number one kind of aspect about teeth is it's kind of like showing your boundaries and showing your virility and your ability to be self-empowered.”
“Their inner smile is so strong that the outer smile becomes strong no matter what it looks like.”
“If we have a protective elixir that's produced by the mouth and the body to keep our gums and teeth safe, and it's called saliva, we really need to treasure it and protect it.”
“You lie into a dentist's energy field. That dentist is not vibing right. It's going to compound that anxiety.”
“The overall message of taking care of your health in general is going to have a great impact on how well your teeth and gums regenerate.”

Tippecanoe Herbs

Kyle and Serena Denton are community herbalists creating wild-crafted and organic plant medicines out of Milwaukee since 2015. I have used their teas and tinctures on an almost daily basis for years now. Kyle is a great friend of InnerVerse and has appeared on the channel more times than I can count. These products work, not in the allopathic "pharma-medicine" way, but in a terrain-support, consciousness bolstering plant-teacher sort of way.
