Core themes

5 themes
1

Reading the chart through the body

Emily Ridout describes AstroYoga as astrology that literally affects the body, with the body then used to navigate the sky map toward where a person wants to go. She says that can mean yoga postures, mudra and mantra, or simply choosing activities that resonate the way a placement needs. A first birth chart reading has value, she says, but clients who return month after month get far deeper and more specific advice. She closes by describing her Astrology Academy course starting in January, her on demand AstroYoga teacher training, and memberships with group sessions and a monthly booklet of roughly fifty pages.

2

Relative truth and holding others in loving awareness

With Mars entering Sagittarius and crossing the lunar south node, Emily says the hallmark of the Sagittarius and Gemini nodes is mistaking a relative truth for the ultimate truth. She argues this is a moment to trust lived experience, the body and intuition over authority, while admitting that opinions, like a favorite ice cream flavor, are meant to stay relative. Heading into the holidays, Chance says meeting family where they are works better than arguing, since our energy is the one thing we control. Emily adds that a frustrating argument reflects something about ourselves, and that no problem is solved at the level at which it was created.

3

Freedom versus structure in 2021

Emily names the Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus square as the hallmark of 2021, likening it to the myth of Ouranos and Kronos at war. In her reading, Saturn brings restriction, from online censorship to the useful structure of organizing a podcast, while Uranus brings freedom, chaos and surprise, so people wrestled with questions like staying single or marrying. Chance recalls a day that left him with new respect for Saturn's boundaries. Emily also says native Plutonians born roughly from 1984 into the early 1990s met a Uranus opposition that resurfaced old shadow, and that Chiron in Aries exposes where we traded our true self for safety.

4

Venus retrograde and love that starts within

Emily describes Venus joining Pluto in Capricorn, which she links to the Persephone and Hades story as an allegory for winter, before Venus stations retrograde. In her view beauty is then best sought within, so it is a poor moment to shop for clothes or hunt for a new partner and Capricorn's rule over antiquity invites looking back through folklore and tarot. Chance offers his own view that the only kind of love is self-love, with care for others as its verb, so nobody runs a love deficit. Emily adds the tarot image of cups brought full to the party, and asks couples to separate love from attachment.

5

What 2022 may bring, in Emily's reading

Emily calls Jupiter entering Pisces to join Neptune the hallmark of 2022, with an exact conjunction around April that she believes could help many people move from knowing esoteric principles to consciously directing them. She ties Pisces to the Moon card, and asks listeners to keep up meditation and to rest, since she says those shifts happen during sleep. She raises floods and waves as a possible pitfall, and Chance mentions Cliff High's web bot forecasting glacial movement. Emily also flags the lunar nodes moving into Taurus and Scorpio in January, the eclipse axis of seed and flower, and a United States Pluto return.

Kyle and Serena Denton are community herbalists creating wild-crafted and organic plant medicines out of Milwaukee since 2015. I have used their teas and tinctures on an almost daily basis for years now. Kyle is a great friend of InnerVerse and has appeared on the channel more times than I can count. These products work, not in the allopathic "pharma-medicine" way, but in a terrain-support, consciousness bolstering plant-teacher sort of way.
