Laurel Airica | Linguistic Ascension, Upgrading Language and Uplifting The World

Laurel Airica returns to the show for another round of word magic fun! As a professional performance poet and etymological explorer, Laurel reveals the unknown significance of everyday verbiage, and makes phonetics fun again. In the beginning was the word, but it's up to us to make sure we have the last word when it comes to the neuro-linguistic programming of our minds. In this episode we overview some vibrant vocabulary that sheds light on humanity's current condition(ing), entering the god zone vortex, the computer code driven colonization of our consciousness, and connecting with the universal source field. All that and lots more!

1

English as Spell and Software

Laurel Airica argues that English is laced with secret spells, the subject of her most popular video, and that its sounds hide second meanings, as in her pun on the mettle, metal, meddle and medal of mind. She says the British Empire receded but left English behind to colonize consciousness everywhere, and her Word Magic vision statement calls our forked tongue English the leading software of the Western mind, badly in need of retuning and upgrading. In her view its hidden biases work like computer viruses, echoing an antiquated vision of reality that she says the church promulgated as mind control.

2

Sacred Path Words and Double Hearing

Alongside the spells, Laurel describes what she calls sacred path words, where innate human wisdom bubbles up: earth and heart differ only by where the H sits, a seven year old she asked guessed the earth is the heart of our solar system, and the heart holds an ear she calls our third ear. Her double hearing turns Chance's word bard into barring the bards so truth cannot be spoken. Chance runs with it, tying bard to lawyers being barred, judges in black robes and Saturn, which he says some ancient cultures called Bar, then turns to rating culture, which Laurel hears as berating.

3

Computer Code as the New Colonizer

Chance carries Laurel's point about English into the digital age, arguing that just as English colonized the world while the British Empire spread, computer code has now colonized it, a language most of us cannot even translate for ourselves. He points to the surveillance and AI future he sees coming from companies like Google and Facebook and from intelligence agencies, and to how quickly we accept the top search result as the answer. He describes China's social credit system as the ultimate language prison, a web of words spun around your name that limits where you can go, much like online restaurant ratings.

4

The Little i and the Capital I

Laurel reads the alphabet as a code we barely understand, and invites animators to bring her poem on the letter S to life. She starts with the two I's: the lowercase i, its dot floating apart from its line, is for her the mind separated from the body, the small ego that feels diminished and grows irate, while the capital I touches the sky and connects it to earth. Her poem from Word Magic, recited here, ends on perception, not perfection, being what is ultimately freeing, a line Chance reads as saying that widening perception shows the perfection already there.

5

A Global Experiment in the Word

Laurel proposes using the lockdown as a global experiment in how powerful the word is, and backs it with quotes she has gathered: Confucius on correcting the language first, Orwell tying political chaos to the decay of language, and Octavio Paz on corruption turning language gangrenous. Her literary lotto invites listeners to download new words and phrases that lift consciousness, with the best ones printed on shirts and mugs to profit the prophet. She pictures humanity joining in a murmuration like starlings, and she and Chance agree that doing what you love, which she calls entering the god zone, raises a contagious vibration.

Quotes

8 quotes
“We are creating the world right now in the image and likeness of the least aspects of ourselves, our least enlightened selves. The culture encourages the beast instead of the best in us all.”
“The special thing I'm here to tell is that our words create the spell, and that our problems are compounded because English is confounded.”
“You can even say that the way that English colonized the world at a certain point, when the British Empire was spreading, was also the way that computer code has now colonized the world.”
“One of the obvious sacred path words is the fact that the word earth is the same as the word heart; it's just where you put the letter H.”
“Since the feeling of my being all depends on how I'm seeing, it's perception, not perfection, that is ultimately freeing.”
“Trying to attain perfection is impossible, but expanding your perception actually shows you the perfection that's already there.”
“We are coming to a time when there is this impulse for us all to come together in a human murmuration.”
“See if you can get closer to creating as much as you consume, in whatever way feels like your way to do that.”

Kyle and Serena Denton are community herbalists creating wild-crafted and organic plant medicines out of Milwaukee since 2015. I have used their teas and tinctures on an almost daily basis for years now. Kyle is a great friend of InnerVerse and has appeared on the channel more times than I can count. These products work, not in the allopathic "pharma-medicine" way, but in a terrain-support, consciousness bolstering plant-teacher sort of way.
