The Oera Linda surfaced in the 1870s in the possession of a Frisian family and presents itself as a 13th century copy of a much older pre-Christian text. The mainstream has called it a forgery for over a century, but someone created a unique 16-letter alphabet derived from a sun-wheel symbol, wrote a substantial body of material in it, and left a linguistic and symbolic puzzle that researchers are still working through.
