RJ Spina | A Guide to Ascend the Frequencies, & Higher Mind Healing of Permanent Paralysis
A new year of InnerVerse kicks off with a paradigm busting pow-wow about the power of our higher mind to transform our material body in astounding ways. In 2016, RJ Spina became permanently paralyzed (according to his surgeons and doctors), waking up in the hospital with no feeling or movement from the chest down. Tune in to find out how RJ intuitively, miraculously, and fully healed from this incurable condition, the eternal metaphysical truths that his experience reveals, how to get into the driver's seat of the miracle machine, and much more.
In the Plus+ Extension, RJ walks us through a demonstration of the Ascend the Frequencies healing technique that he used to reignite dead nerves in his spine. We also discuss mental strategies to invoke ideas and inspiration, Ascended Masters and the Bible Deconstructed, the emanations of the absolute source, and bridging astrotheology with one's personal philosophy.

Core themes
April 2016, in Spina's own account
Chance Garton opens with an invocation and hands the floor to RJ Spina, who dates his story to April 23rd, 2016. By his own account, Spina was diagnosed with sepsis, told he had 48 hours to live, encouraged to write a will, and left paralyzed from the chest down by an infection compressing his spine from T5 through T10. He describes waking at 3 a.m. in the ICU after an emergency laminectomy, feeling nothing below his chest, and says the neurosurgeon told him the damage was permanent. Spina also says his earliest childhood memories are of leaving his body.
One hundred days, as he describes them
Asked what those hundred days were like, Spina describes agony rather than triumph. He says the first thirteen days brought no sensation below the chest, that rehab ran twice a day for ninety minutes at a facility attached to Sharp Memorial Hospital, and that he asked his doctor for very strong painkillers because he could not bear being touched or moved. He recounts telling an insurance wheelchair representative that he would not need the chair, and says hospital staff filmed him because he expected no one to believe him. Garton then picks the word agony apart, tracing it to the Greek agon, meaning contest or struggle.
Limitation programs and the subconscious mind
Spina's second book, Change Your Mind, published in August 2023, argues that the subconscious mind is responsible for 95 percent of the reality we create and the thinking mind for only 5 percent. Until a buried limitation program is recognized as something other than the self and deleted, he contends, a person can only recycle the same failed relationships, failed businesses and failed attempts. He names the culprit as societal conditioning and brainwashing, and labels the pattern the ego mind identity, or EMI, borrowing the physics term electromagnetic interference. Garton links it to his own biofield tuning sessions, where he traces repeating life patterns back to formative and pre-memory experience.
Evolutionary tension and the frequency model
Asked why conditioning and dissonance exist at all, Spina answers with what he calls evolutionary tension: without something pushing down on you, he argues, there is no growth, and incarnation into the bottom three frequencies that give us height, width and depth is an accelerant for the evolution of consciousness. He illustrates it with Olympic diving and degree of difficulty, and rejects good and evil as a religious frame in favor of high and low frequency. He also describes a moment lying in bed when, he says, all so-called knowledge and all experience were seen as the same thing and simply fell away.
Permission, attention and the year ahead
Asked whether someone should quit work they resent in order to focus, Spina says the first move in his framing is to give yourself permission, since a doctor, clergy member, spouse or pharmacist may never hand it over, and to stop spending energy on what he calls energetic placeholders. Garton widens the idea to permission to have fun or to enjoy life. Spina then walks through his 2024 schedule, a three day San Diego event in February, a Kauai retreat, and courses including The Bible Deconstructed. In the outro Garton reflects on his own leap out of a day job and says he needs a bigger dream.

“It is our level of love and wisdom whose subsets are our talents and abilities. That's actually what we are. That's the creator within us all.”
“Because we're high frequency beings, what most of us long for is to be able to operate the way that we normally do, which is a high frequency way.”
“Aptitude is a function of care. So however much care you can bring to bear on something, that's your aptitude for it.”
“The only real knowledge that exists is self-knowledge, which is gnosis. Not mental knowledge. That's actually the delusion and the illusion.”
“If we're not ready to replace that dream that we've achieved with something else to grow into, things can start to diminish or spiral downward.”
