Core themes
Children as Issue and Private Records
The guests opened with their view that a child is a parent's own issue, a word they said Black's Law defines as progeny. One of them argued that applications for numbers and benefits can be securitized and monetized, and described the family writing its own records instead. One of the hosts added Webster's 1828 definitions of application, including the act of laying something on, and tied that to laying a fictional person over a living being. One guest said the knowledge is publicly available and urged listeners to learn it themselves.
Beth Martens on Registering Children
Beth Martens joined as a surprise guest and said she had come back around to a different place, adding that she would register a child herself if she had one now. She argued for mastery of both the public and private realms, and read out a viewer's chat remark that ignorance, not paper, makes a person a slave. One of the Family Fungi guests replied that registering a child skips giving that child full disclosure before entering the commercial system. Beth said she did not accept that registering hands a child over, and she wished the guests well.
Is Skipping Registration Legal
One panelist asked whether leaving children unregistered is illegal, noting that Amish and Mennonite communities seem to live that way. James Frosch answered from principles, saying authority flows from the creator to man to government to corporations, and that anyone hunting for legality had already left the right path. Another panelist described census and bank experiences in Canada and said they knew of no one charged for not registering a child. James then added that officials act on what they believe, so he stressed learning the right words.
Word Jail and Private Contracts
Gabe congratulated Beth on her verbal kung fu and said he looked back on how careless he once was with words. Beth said the words are not the jail, the belief that they are is, and told a story about cows refusing to cross a moved fence. One panelist warned that shrinking vocabulary is a form of mental slavery. Another panelist described trust documents and private contract communities as tools people could use to meet their own needs.
Free Will, Fear, and Pain
Elise Frosch asked when women stopped trusting their own intuition, and said hidden victim consciousness tends to surface during pregnancy and birth. Chance described, in general terms, using free will to accept and forgive the past rather than bypass it. Beth Martens said she creates her own discomfort and learns from it. The panel compared pain to a signal and a growth tool, and one panelist closed on Webster's 1828 meaning of radical, pertaining to roots.
Quotes
“One year ago today, we had Beth on for a talk, and she just pops into my mind when we were setting up the show, and I was like, you know what, she would be perfect for this conversation.”
“The using free will to accept, to forgive, to show love, that is how you transcend and change the story. You don't change what actually happened, but you change your relationship to it.”
“We just submitted, me and Dylan Saccoccio, the audiobook for his fourth book that took me a while to get through, kind of do a lot of learning of alphabets and pronunciation. But we submitted that. And Amazon emails him back and says, we can't accept your submission because the narrator in the opening and closing credits mispronounced his own name.”
“Well, congratulations, Beth, on having the verbal kung fu, because that's really what this is. It's so difficult, but also a glorious challenge to speak impeccably. Once you've taken on the responsibility of knowing the power of words, I think back to before I knew how powerful words were, and how careless I really was.”
“The key is to educate people and to make things available. Make the medicine available, make the education available, whether it's the education that, hey, you can go find these mushrooms in the woods in a local park. You can go find these medicinal herbs in your lawn. It's those steps towards sovereignty that begin to awaken the spirit within people.”
“If you conceive the child with God's blessing, that child's coming out. Every child is a blessing from God. And it is our responsibility whenever we create that light to defend that light and to educate them and to bring them into the culture, the true culture that doesn't have all of this overlay, this matrix, whatever people want to call it.”
“It doesn't matter so much whether we believe it. It matters that they believe it. They being the people that will tell you, hey, no, you're going to have to tell me what you're using your money for.”
“I've been thinking, well, if women are these portals of birth that have birthed it all, when did the woman fall prey to someone else telling her what to do and how to birth her baby and how to raise her child? When did we fall behind on that? Because it is all in the woman's power.”
“Do you find yourself a victim in any way, shape or form? Because if you do, it's going to come up in your life and in your birth and in your whole pregnancy and postpartum as a whole.”
“I'll still go about my private business, how I do. But at the end of the day, the words are not our jail. It's the belief that the words are our jail that is the jail. That's my take on it.”
“To me, 99.9% of it is right here. We bind ourself. We take ourself down. We're at war with ourself. If we weren't at war with ourself, then they couldn't take advantage of us and all the confusion that we put ourself in.”
“When you cause yourself to grow and you step out of your comfort zone, even though you don't have to at all, it's a choice. And I often am joking, like people ask me how am I doing, and I say, well, I'm making my own trouble. I have trouble like everybody else, but I'm clearly the one who makes it.”
