1

Opening Sacred Space With the Four Directions

Kerri Hummingbird began the show by opening sacred space, calling in the south, west, north and east along with Mother Earth, Father Sky, plant and animal allies and her ancestors. She said she asked for help each day and told her students that days went better when they said yes to connection. Later she explained that her new book, Inner Medicine, followed the same medicine wheel, built around the four directions and a spiral, with a story opening each section. She described the book as a ceremony and said readers and listeners would receive its frequency work.

2

Initiation, Motherhood, and the Placenta

Chance argued that the placenta was a baby's guardian angel and twin, and that a culture treating it as biohazard waste might leave that guardian spirit traumatized. Kerri said she had not been initiated into womanhood, so her family marked her daughter's passage with a sweat lodge. She argued that people needed initiations into each stage of life or they stayed stuck there, and that modern mothers lacked the wise women's circles indigenous communities once offered. Chance said that tracing family patterns back through the ancestral line often showed the same struggle repeating for generations.

3

Wordplay, Law, and Hidden Ritual

Chance linked the word cyst to a basket and to the placenta, and argued that birth is an anagram of tribe, and Gabe later remarked on how often such threads led back to the placenta. When the talk turned to medical induction, one speaker said the word induction was an occult term meaning initiation, and read an 1828 dictionary definition to make the point. The same speaker said science called ritual a procedure, which was the same thing in another language, then claimed that the birth certificate and citizenship functioned as a type of black magic that gave people a paper identity in place of their inner one.

4

Fractal Lines and Healing Through Friction

Kerri drew on the Gene Keys to argue that every ancestral line was a fractal, and that when opposite lines met, the friction cleared distortion from both and led toward harmony. She said people could now discuss hot topics that had been impossible decades earlier. A later speaker, answering Kerri, described the liminal space, where one peeked through the veil, as a place where everything looked fractal, and said that seeing a family line as a wave was how such traumas could be healed. The same speaker tied the spiral of a pattern to seven generations.

5

Animal Allies, Fire, and Owl Medicine

Kerri told how a vision of a hummingbird led to the name Kerri Hummingbird, and described the hummingbird, jaguar, serpent and condor as primary shamanic allies. Chance noted that an ancient Mexican flood story sent out a hummingbird in place of a dove, and the conversation tied the bird's name Colibri to Calabria. Kerri described calling on vulture to cleanse old toxic energy and said the spots where fire marked her feet taught her what her body needed. She urged listeners not to try firewalking at home. Gordy described being gifted an owl wing.

Quotes

13 quotes
“I think there's two keys. You got to choose to live. And you got to be willing to do anything. And if you do those two things, you're going to get led.”
“The placenta part of what you deliver as a mother is basically your baby's guardian angel. It's a twin. It's the boat they come in on. It's their savior in a way. And in our current culture that is treated like medical biohazard waste.”
“I work with people's memories all the time in biofield tuning. What's the effect of a memory that is inaccurate or not true? It could potentially be the same effect as one that was real. It still forms this geometry of your energy field around you that you're within.”
“All of life on this planet is cultivating humankind. They're all holding space for us. And you can tell it because your dog looks at you like, you're being groomed.”
“The training being that you don't know anything about your body, you need to go to the magical priest in the white coat, they know. And you don't have to worry about operating in the body properly. It's just like a vehicle that you take into the shop for the repairs when it gets broken down and let the mechanics take care of it.”
“You start looking through cymatic books and you're finding the exact same shapes. I'm like, this is creation. This is God. And then all the hermetic stuff comes rushing back and you're like, we're all just hermetics. All the seven rules just all fit.”
“As a woman, you're always given somebody else's name. And for the first time, I got a name that was mine, that was given to me by spirit, by source, Kerri Hummingbird.”
“I went to the naturopath, and she gave me the whole test, like the 50,000 questions. And at the end of it, she said, well, you need kidney support in your solar plexus. And so I just took off my shoe and was like, the fire already told me that. You can just walk across fire to figure out what you need.”
“This is the inner medicine. You might be applying it to the bottom of your foot, the sole. But it's going to stimulate the internal. Same reason why Chi Gong is such a fantastic modality, because it allows you to massage and support and send energy and current to the internal areas that you can't really externally touch physically.”
“We are in the river of life. The river of life is taking humanity to the next place whether we want it or not. And so if you want to feel less pain and suffering, you have to admit it and say yes, I accept this, and invite it.”
“Just fascinating how I get caught up in all the hullabaloo and all the symbolism. And it gets really advanced and crazy. But then I kind of take a step back, like the hawk, and see from a much further away perspective. And I realize that there's something more simple going on.”
“That just happened with me with an owl. And I was struggling with that at first, because I was questioning, how would one be blessed with an owl wing? How would I even ask source for something like that? I don't want to hurt any animals. And just as I did that, the next day, it happened.”
“One of the beautiful things about ritual and ceremony is bringing it to a closure, to a resolution, into an end. And that is something that I forgot about for a long time in my martial arts practice. When we come out of the game, we always ground.”

Kyle and Serena Denton are community herbalists creating wild-crafted and organic plant medicines out of Milwaukee since 2015. I have used their teas and tinctures on an almost daily basis for years now. Kyle is a great friend of InnerVerse and has appeared on the channel more times than I can count. These products work, not in the allopathic "pharma-medicine" way, but in a terrain-support, consciousness bolstering plant-teacher sort of way.
